Limonius poneli Leseigneur & Mertlik, 2007

Gwydir Street: 17 Jun 2018 A 6-8 mm click beetle that is uniformly grey/black in colour and metallic in appearance with a fine covering of hairs. This species was long known as Kibunea minuta (Linnaeus, 1758) but this was transferred to Limonius by Cate (2007). Leseigneur & Mertlik (2007) showed that two closely related species were present differentiated by the male genitalia and all British material has so far proved to be poneli. NBN Atlas

Cantharis flavilabris (Fallén, 1807)

Location: Cambridge, Sheeps' Green TL448575. Date: 13 June 2017 This species with a black scutellum has generally been treated as Cantharis nigra (De Geer) in British literature. Cantharis nigricans (O.F.Müller, 1776)

Location: Cambridge, Byron's Pool TL438548. Date: 26 May 2015 The dark mark on the pronotum may be absent leaving the entire pronotum brown to orange. The black on the orange hind legs extends above the 'knee'. NBN Atlas

Rhagonycha nigriventris Motschulsky, 1860

Location: Cambridge, Coldhams Common, TL474584. Date: 25 May 2015 Small (5 to 6 mm) brown beetle with a black head, black thighs and a large black mark on the pronotum. Previously referred to Rhagonycha limbata C.G.Thomson, 1864. NBN Atlas
