Flowers - Aubretia

Aubretia are ever-green perennials. These flowered April-May. The colours are in a pink to purple range, and this pale mauve is typical.

Aubretia are rather an old-fashioned flower. They ought to make low clumps, covered with flowers, that get wider each year. Mine are rather overwhelmed with other plants and are rather straggley! They don't seem to reroot as much as some "clumping" plants, so if you cut off the straggly bits, they have no roots, and just die.
