Dahlias are half-hardy - frost kills them. You're supposed to dig them up in autumn and store them somewhere frost-free, but that isn't my kind of gardening! However, I bought this as an annual (in Asda!) - the orange one. I also sowed some seeds. The slugs and smails seemed to like the flowers, but one survived (pink).
