Flowers - Lupin

Lupin is a Perennial. These flowered in May.

There were lupins in the garden when we moved here, 40 years ago. They disappeared, but I have managed to reintroduce them. I bought a couple of lupin plants in pots. I'm not sure if it's managed to reseed - I hope so! (They all disappeared again...)

Lupins are an old fashioned flower. The flowers last some time, as a flower spike is formed, and the individual flowers start coming out at the bottom. The plant gets taller as the open flowers move up the spike. Lower down, the flowers turn into seed pods. The flowers seem to change colour as they mature. The leaves are an interesting shape as well.
