Mallow
Mallow is really a weed in our garden. In the vegetable garden, it gets severely removed, as it seeds freely. However, one has appeared in a sensible place in the flower border, so it's got left, and appreciated.
I get the plant mixed up with Hollyhocks as the leaf and shape of the plant looks simialr. The flowers are different, though!
I think that marshmallows were originally flavoured with mallow, but I don't know whether this type.
This one looks quite different, and just appeared in our wild flower garden. It's a musk mallow.
