Flowers - Rose - Climber

Return to Rose index

This is my only rose which is a climber. It flowered in May-June, with a second flowering in August-September.

I bought it years ago when my neighbour's garden had high bushes along the boundary, and that bit of our garden was very shady. This variety of climber was supposed to tolerate shade. However, it never developed properly as a climber. I don't know whether I just can't grow climbers, or it's in the wrong place. My neighbours have now put in a new fence, and we will see if the climbing rose develops more.

However, it tends to produce one rather beautiful bloom at a time, and what's more, at nose level, so you can smell it (it is scented). I'm afraid that I don't know the variety name.
