Flowers - Rose - Deep Secret

Return to Rose index

This is a rose called Deep Secret. It is a tea rose, which means that it only produces one or at most a few flowers per stem, but the roses are large and well-formed. It flowered in May-June, with a second flowering in August.

I bought this rose because I wanted a red rose to go with the Iceberg rose, so I could have a War of the Roses (Lancaster v. York). It was an impulse buy, and I had a weekly food supermarket shop as well. And I was riding my bike, so had to get all that home...

There is an odd problem with this rose. My camera won't reproduce the colour correctly for the flower when fully out. The bud photos do work, and the full flower is much closer to that colour than the photos show.
