Flowers - Rose - Graham Thomas

Return to Rose index

This is a rose called Graham Thomas. I bought it from the rose breeder David Austen. It is a modern type of rose called English rose. Previously, roses were often bred for colour and shape, and other qualities like scent were beginning to disappear. So these English roses looked back to the old fashioned single flowering roses to introduce better roses. The Graham Thomas rose has a scent. It is either a vivid yellow or tending paler, but with no tinge of red as some yellow roses have. It has a floribunda habitat, with lots of flowers on a single stem, but the individual flowers have an interesting shape. It flowered from May almost to July and then started flowering again August into September.
