Herbs - Mint

Mint is a perennial which dies down to the ground every winter. It has a quickly growing root system, and needs careful controlling. But it's quite fun weeding mint, as it gives off a strong mint smell!

There are different types of mint. The usual garden mint is spearmint. The mint in toothpaste and sweets is peppermint.
