Festive Windows

2020 was the time of Covid, when Covid-19, the coronavirus, caused a world pandemic. There were lockdowns, and restrictions on where we could go and what we could do. By the end of the year, we were all getting fed up. So we decided to have a street long Festive Window display. It worked rather like an advent calendar (except it went on past Christmas, and was not necessarily about Christmas). Every day in December (nearly), one or more windows were revealed. It was great fun!

And then in 2021, still being in the time of Covid, we decided to do it all again! (And so on...)

Halloween seems to becoming more and more important. (It could be that Covid helped this. Trick and Treating is an outdoor activity, so acceptable when indoor and croded events were cancelled.) It is an evolving tradition, and - more and more - people are decorating their houses. There seems to be an idea that if you put a lit pumpkin in the window, you welcome Trick-or-Treaters.
