This isn't supposed to be a serious coverage - just shops that caught my eye!
This is a splendid shopping road, full of South Asian shops and businesses. It starts at the Gandhi statue, and continues north, into Melton Road. Apparently it's called the Golden Mile. One thing we found - the shops don't open early, so perhaps visit in the afternoon.
Asian shops aren't restricted to Belgrave Road, though.
This Indian street food restaurant was also in Polklington Walk.
I assume that they were awesome chips. There was often a queue, and they certainly got through a number of potatoes!
This is a barber, with rather odd decorations! There was a skeleton or two as well. In Market Street.
These are in the same room, with tables and chairs for those eating. One end is Bitsy's Emporium of Awesome, seeling toasted cheese sandwiches, and impressive brownies and cakes. The other end is Graff HQ, which sells aerosols for street art. They make an interesting contrast.
