Flanders lace mat
Flanders lace usually does have a gimp and is usually made with Flanders ground. The date is late 19th to early 20th c. The particular pattern is called "the ape" and several variants of that pattern exist. "The ape" does not have gimp. It is used as a student piece because it has most of the techniques used in Flanders.
The fabric in the centre has some simple drawn work.
