English Maltese lace mat
This mat has eight small Maltese crosses round the edge, but it is made of white cotton rather than cream silk, so it is likely to be English Maltese. It is made of two pieces stitched together, an outer piece, and an inner piece with tallies.
The Maltese crosses are in cloth stitch with other cloth stitch shapes between. There are tallies in the inner piece. The headside has plaits.
