Maltese lace - part of collar

This Maltese lace piece is made from cream silk. It is part of a collar. Not only is the left part missing, it would probably have had another strip stitched to the top edge. See this collar.

It has the Maltese cross in cloth stitch, and flowers with petals made from tallies, and there are other clusters of tallies. The trails are worked in cloth stitch, and some plaits along the top.
