Bedfordshire mat

This mat is worked similar to tape lace, joined to itself as it is worked.

There is a cloth stitch trail headside. There are flowers with tally petals. Things are joined with plaits.

This piece is too big to fit in my scanner (which is how I am reproducing the lace) so I can only show part of it on the right. The entire piece is photographed below to show its shape.
