Cluny lace - mat

There are tallies and a pattern of plaits. The headside is French fan headside (or Cluny edge). The tallies making the flowers are obviously worked in two parts, and the stitch joining them has mostly come apart!

This piece is too big to fit in my scanner (which is how I am reproducing the lace) so I can only show pieces of it on the right. The entire piece is photographed below to show its shape.
