Maltese lace insertion

This lace sample is made from cream silk. It has a Maltese cross, so suggesting that it is Maltese. However, the cross is badly made in some places, so itmay be English Maltese.

It has the Maltese cross in cloth stitch,and flowers with petals made from tallies, and there are other clusters of tallies. Some plaits or twisted pairs connect things. There is a twisted footside.
