La dentelliere by Ernest Bieler (1863-1948)
The oldest picture of bobbin lacemaking seems to be in Nuw Modelbuch (New pattern book) - see below. This book was printed in Zurich in 1561. This book said that lace was brought to Zurich from Italy in about 1536.
