Bobbin lace - Size of pattern and what type of thread

You may use any pattern on my website for your own use, or for lace groups, or any educational purposes.

How you print the pattern off will depend on your computer and printer, and browser. My browser (Edge) allows you to print the whole page (click on the 3 lines icon, top right). Or you can copy or save the pattern itself (I use right click) and put it into something that will print, such as Word or Paint software.

The pattern size and thread type and width have a close relationship in lace. In fact, there is quite a range of acceptable pattern sizes and thread widths, but they can look different.

I mostly use ordinary sewing thread, and sometimes special thread, such as sparkly thread. For the pattern size, my printer does 72 pixels for the inch. This is very technical, and I only know it because it went wrong recently (new computer!) But for a comparision, pattern 452 is four and a quarter inches or 11 cms long (approx.)
