Description: This is the same pattern as pattern 389, with an extra pair to make the fringe. While working the lace, this pair makes loops, and after you've finished the lace, these loops can be left like that, or, as here, cut to make the fringe. This pair is worked across the worker pair of the fan in cloth stitch and twist, pin, cross stitch and twist. Then it is taken to the outer pin, round it, and back for the next stitch with the worker pair. You can make the fringe longer by marking the outer pin holes further away from the lace.

The fringe pair travels quite a distance, between the fringe pins and the edge of the lace, so make sure that you have a lot of thread wound on those bobbins!
