Pattern:
Bobbins: 7 pairs (6 silver pairs, 1 gold pair)
Style: Torchon
Stitches:
cloth stitch and twist
picot
Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. This is a simple pattern with only a few pairs of bobbins. I do suggest using picots for the points of the star, since they help to emphasise the points, but they are optional. Otherwise, it's just cloth stitch and twist. By the way, the yellow just shows you where to turn the pillow. It's not part of the worked lace.
I copied this pattern from an existing pricked pattern, without instructions. Perhaps it is supposed to be worked in cloth stitch instead! I think cloth stitch and twist shows up the pattern of the threads better and makes it stronger.
It might seem obvious to start along one of the yellow lines. However, the lace is sparse here, and you could then see where the knotting at the end happens. So I have tried starting in the middle of a section. I didn't want to start exactly in the centre, as there is this one pin there, and I wasn't sure how it worked. So I started one side of it as above. The pink dots are the starting pins.
