Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. This is worked as a tiny mat. Click here for how to work a pentagonal mat. Click here for how to finish a mat.
The Winkie pin cloth footside has two passive pairs. At the end of a petal, one of the passive pairs gets worked, in cloth stitch, across the white pairs, pin neat the centre of the flower, then gets worked back to the edge, then all white pairs get twisted. This frames each petal.
I did not want to overwrite the pattern showing what pairs gets hung where at the start, so I've marked it separately. This assumes that the start is at the top, although it would be more comfortable to turn the pillow slightly before working the first petal.
