Nationality: Dutch
Pillow: square, tilted at an angle, on a stand or a desk
Bobbins: stick-like, hanging off pillow, not many of them
Comments: I found this drawing on a German index of art. It says that it is in the Rijksmuseum. What a ruff! I'm not sure of the accuracy of the dating of this one, but the costume looks about right for the date.
I have described Hendrick Goltzius as Dutch. He was born in Germany, but lived and worked in the Netherlands.
