Artist: Johannes Vermeer
Title: The Lacemaker
Date: around 1669-1671
Nationality: Dutch
Pillow: looks like a padded area on top of a wooden box. It is on a stand.
Bobbins: can't see
Comments: This must be the most famous painting of a lacemaker. She holds two bobbins in her left hand, while (I think) putting in a pin with her right. This is a real close-up, which shows the intent, careful expression on the lacemaker's face and the delicate precision of her hands. This woman is definitely making lace. This painting is in the Louvre.
