Name:Chrysoprase
Derivation: From "chrysos prason" (Greek) gold leek
Description: Bright opaque and green.

Chrysoprase is a vivid green. You can see why it's called after a leek, but I'm not sure about the gold, unless it is to describe the way it almost glows.

Another name is plasma (mention in Kim, by Rudyard Kipling). This name comes from "plasma" (Greek) a thing moulded.
