Derivation:From "citrus" (Latin) a citron (a fruit like a lemon)
Description: Yellow crystals. Sometimes you get rainbows inside.

Citrine Yellow quartz is called Citrine. Some Citrines may be heat-treated amethysts. In the Citrine above, you can see the flat edge that you often get on a quartz crystal.

A dark reddish-brown quartz is called sang de boeuf (French) which means ox blood.
