| Name: | Rose Quartz |
| Derivation: | From the flower |
| Description: | Translucent, a delicate pink colour. |
Rose quartz is usually massive (that is, it doesn't form crystals). However, there are small crystals on the specimen to the right. You can buy chunks of rose quartz quite cheaply. I've got a chunk in my garden, where it looks rather lurid!. The pink colour comes from manganese or titanium.
| This small, natural specimen does have crystals, though. | This polished specimen is nearly transparent. | |
