| Explorer | vs. Internet Explorer |
Explorer and Internet Explorer have the same name, which is very confusing as they serve a very different purpose. What you are using now is probably Internet Explorer, or Netscape or some other browser which has the same function.
Internet Explorer (
) is a web browser, which means it can view pages on the Internet such as this one.
Explorer, also called Windows Explorer (
) allows you to view what's on your computer.
This isn't quite the whole truth, as Explorer sometimes turns into Internet Explorer when you're not expecting it.
