Saxifrage is a perennial. These flowered April to May.
Saxifrage are alpines. These don't grow any taller (although they may spread sideways). They are useful plants for rockeries, a feature of gardens which has fallen out of fashion. But I have a rockery! OK, it's some small bits of rubble with earth in between... I call it a rockery. You have to be careful what you plant in a rockery, as one plant can dominate, and tall plants look ridiculous. But saxifrage are perfect. I also have London Pride and Stonecrop.
