Plymouth - Armada WayClick on a photo for a large version. |
Armada Way runs from near the railway station all the way south to the Hoe. Plymouth was badly bombed doing WWII and the central area was flattened. Armada Way was built post war as part of the city regeneration, with trees and a linear park down the centre, with running water. When we visited (2022), there was no water, and it was looking tired. Since then, the council has felled many of the trees (amind local protest). Sp please don't assume that it still looks like this.
Start at the roundabout sout of the rail station. Here is this artwork about PLymouth heroes.
Take the underpass to enter into Armada Way proper. There are various artworks along it, including a maze.
At the junction of New George Street and Armada Way, there is this large sundial, with explanations in different languages.
This is at the junction of Royal Parade and Armada Way.
This is outside the Civic centre.
I'm not sure what this is!
This is at the bottom of Armada Way, close to the Hoe.
