While researching Greek keys, I found triangular Greek keys on an ancient Celtic cross in Wales. I thought it might be easier to do in lace.
Pattern 166 is similar to this.
Pattern:

Bobbins: 17 pairs
Style: experimental Torchon!
Stitches:
cloth stitch
twist single pair (grey)
Details:
cloth zigzags (red)
chevron pointing upwards (red)
chevron pointing downwards (red)
vertical edges (red)
Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
The start is a little odd in the photo. Since I was trying to end in a fringe, I tried to start with that as well. They don't look the same!
The diagonal stripes don't cause problems, but the straight bars do, even though the pattern makes them twice as wide as the diagonals. As pairs of threads have to enter and leave the bars regularly, the width of the bars vary dramatically, and sometimes there is only one pair of passives, which isn't really enough. Also it can be a problem knowing at the chevrons to know how many pairs of bobbins on each side. I'm afraid that I think that this pattern is not a success! See pattern 166 for a different effort.
