There are two patterns on this page. Scroll down for the simpler pattern with only 8 pairs of bobbins.

This could be used for a Christmas tree decoration, especially if you try some "bling" threads - sparkly or metallic.

Bobbins: 12 pairs - 2 pairs red, 4 pairs green, rest background
Style: Torchon
Stitches:
half stitch
cloth stitch and twist
Details:
Torchon ground
twisted footside
Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. It is just a strip of Torchon ground (with footsides), but the pattern is caused by the different colours of the threads. They must be started in the right order!

This is a similar pattern is a simplified, smaller version, without a footside, which only uses 8 pairs. With a little imagination, you might be able to see a pink cracker:

Bobbins: 8 pairs - 2 pairs red, 2 pairs green, rest background
Style: Torchon
Stitches:
half stitch
cloth stitch and twist
Details:
Torchon ground
footside without passives
Description:
AS this piece of lace does not have any footside passives, and only a few bobbins, it might twist or be too floppy. To avoid this, give two twists to the edge pair after the edge stitch. Twisting threads always makes them stronger.
