Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
I have put some Torchon ground at start and finish to produce neat ends.
The tricky bit is joining the two scallops on either side in the middle. You work the top half of one scallop apart from the stitch at the point. Then you work the other scallop similarly. The two worker pairs should now be next to each other. So you work the stitch that they have in common. Then you finish off each scallop in turn. Click here for a further explanation.
This pattern is similar to pattern 10 except that had a footside. Looking at the two patterns may give you ideas as to how to change strips with a footside into double headside strips, like this one, or go the other way, and cut down symmetrical pieces, putting a footside on, and perhaps adding some ground if necessary.
