
This is a simple Torchon pattern to fit inside a pen. See pen decoration.

This is a very simple pattern, just rose ground and half stitch strips. But the rose ground has been positioned so there is a line of thread at either edge. This means at certain points there are two pairs to take down to the next pin, so they are worked as a plait.
There is also a line at top (and bottom, but that's not so hard). To start the lace, start the pairs at the false starting pins as shown. Some of the pairs carry on downwards, but some go directly left or right. See below for directions of the threads, which should show you work to do the start.
