I've actually started the passives of both headsides in the middle, at the top, and then used them to do two rows of cloth stitch at the top, and also at the bottom, to make a neat start and finish.
I've also made the gimps to be a pair instead, as false gimps so I could chose the colour I wanted. Work these as cloth stitch and twist rather than gimp stitches.
Since all the flowers have the same pin holes, you could change them if you wish, perhaps to be all the same, or alternate cloth and half stitch centres.
