This grid is the one with horizontal waves (left to right).
I aligned the pattern symmetrically on the grid, with the narrowest part on the edge and the widest in the middle. Obviously you would get a different effect if you did the opposite, or even put the same pattern assymetrically on the grid.
I didn't bother with the footside, as the stitches are close together there. I didn't find this quite hard to do, as the threads don't travel quite in the direction you expect. Several bits of the zigzag had to be undone and redone! The bright metallic thread didn't help...
