Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. It may seem strange that the lovely flowing lines that make the spiral are merely thin strips, but I assure you - that is all they are! This circular grid makes straight lines into curves. Apart from starting and finishing, this is a very simple pattern to work, once you've worked out what's going on!

The start is along a diagonal, so one pair starts at each pin. I have marked the false pins in pink, which are between the real pin holes. The whole pattern is worked anti-clockwise. I've marked the last part to be worked in grey, as you will ignore this at the start. It is very important in this pattern to start the different coloured threads in the right places. Alternate the colours as you hang them to start working them into the pattern. When you start a new strip, use the correct coloured pair at workers, so they can colour the whole strip. Click here to see how to start and work this type of circular shape. Click here for how to finish an edge.
This is a deliberately coloured pattern. When designing pattern 90, I worked out that the workers for the different strips varied in a predictable way, which led to this pattern. You can use up to 4 different colours, and vary them as you wish. Red, gold and green are traditional Christmas colours, of course, but you don't have to stick to them.

This has 4 colours, red, gold, green, silver.
