I designed this based on a tapestry design. It is not a standard Torchon shape. See pattern 58.

Pattern representation of a flower
There is a spider in the centre. You can have something else - perhaps a small diamond or some ground.
This pattern shows a flower (sloping sides 4 pins). It is possible to have a smaller flower (3 long) although that might look a little sparse. There are also bigger flowers - the cloth flower above has 5 pins. I hope you can see how to adapt the following explanation for hose.
This diagram avoids the complexities of the individual stitches by showing each pair of threads as a single line. Where one line crosses another, you should work it in cloth stitch. Twist the pairs as they leave the shapes.

Working: The petals are worked in cloth stitch. The top two middle petals have to be worked together, as they share stitches in certain rows. Some of the pairs leaving the top petals need to be crossed over before joining the middle petals - this is done with a cloth stitch and twist. Each upper side petal can be worked by itself, as they do not rely on each other. However, the upper side petals need to be finished before working the centre (an 8 legged spider). The bottom half is similar to the top half.
