Trailer - Local Elections May 2005

Elections were held on Thursday 5th May 2005 in 37 English Local Authorities. This was essentially a County Council year, but among Unitary Authorities the Isle of Wight has the nature of a county, Bristol had been permanently placed on a unique electoral cycle omitting years divisible by 4, (The City of Bristol (Electoral Changes) Order 1998), and Stockton-on-Tees was implementing boundary changes (The Borough of Stockton-on-Tees (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2005).

Links are to Electoral Change Orders where division boundaries are being implemented.
