Description:

Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.

This pattern is started at 1 on the pattern. The pairs are started within the pattern, where marked. There are 12 pairs. It is worked down to the dark grey line. Then those bobbins are left alone. The pillow is turned around. Another 12 pairs are hung at the points marked near 2. This arm is worked down to the dark grey line. Now half of the first group of bobbins are combined with half of the second group to work the third arm. They finish at 3, and get tied off. The remaining bobbins work the fourth arm, finishing at 4, and getting tied off. See the description of working a cross, starting from end.

The edge pair of the scallops are a different colour, to frame the cross.
