Description:
Pattern:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. On each arm, two of the fans are unusual. In the centre, the red fans start rather like a diamond, with threads coming in from both sides. But it soon turns into a conventional fan. Similarly the last red fan on each arm ends rather strangely. I've marked on the right arm where the end threads come out from the lace. This is to stop one fan overlapping the other to much.
See cross, starting from middle for different ways to make this shape. You can work each arm separately, joining each arm to the previous. If you prefer taking the threads across the centre, the following diagram shows where the threads start.

The red numbers are for the bottom arm, and also provide half of the pairs for the middle arms. The blue numbers are for the top arm, and also provide the other half of the pairs for the middle arms. If you wind these all as bobbins, it will need 36 pairs.
This cross has quite narrow, long arms. You can adapt the pattern easily to make shorter arms.
