Lesley designed and made this pattern after only two months of learning to make bobbin lace. She used my interactive lace designer.
There are several ways to make this pattern. I have made the hearts half stitch. They could, of course, be cloth stich. I have made the fans and the footside to be a different colour (this requires double Torchon ground stitches between the footside and the rest of the lace). If you have cloth stitch hearts, they could be a different colour as well. But of course, the whole lace can be the same colour. It is also possible to make the hearts and fans alternate half stitch and cloth stitch, or even make the top half of the hearts cloth stitch and the bottom half stitch. Using half stitch will restrict your options for colour.
