You can use this pattern in different ways. You could make all the diamonds cloth stitch (if you don't want to muddle up the pairs by doing half stitch!) You could make them all half stitch. You could have a different mix of half stitch and cloth stitch. You could make the strip longer. You could make the ground double Torchon ground. Only one colour is used here, but you could make the passive pairs in the footside a different colourt. Whenever you look at a pattern, it is worth thinking if you could use it in a different way.
