These are very narrow strips of Torchon lace using only 6 pairs. They are experiments to see what would happen with various grounds, using colours to show how that threads travel through the lace. There are passives in the footsides (unlike the thinner ribbons), which helps prevent twisting, but they do still twist, so if you wanted to use them then it might be a good idea to sew them onto a backing ribbon, or glue them to a card.
