Discworld

The Discworld books by Terry Pratchett can be found in all good bookshops, either on the Science Fiction/Fantasy shelves, or in the best-sellers display. They are a gorgeous romp through lands populated by wonderful characters, such as the Librarian (an orang-utan) and Death (who rides a horse called Binky). One species in this teeming world is the Trolls, a silicon-based life-form. They have diamond teeth and need sun-block to protect them from the sun. They have mostly geological names.
