I found out how to work a pea from a book of bobbin lace stitches, but I'm not sure if I got it right, so this is categorised under experimental! I suggest that you use open spiders instead, such as pattern 174.

cloth stitch
cloth stitch and twist
twist single pair (grey)
Details:
cloth zigzag (red)
chevron pointing upwards (red)
chevron pointing downwards (red)
