Le Pompe is a mid 16thC lace pattern book. This is my attempt to reproduce one of the patterns.

Style: Torchon

half stitch
cloth stitch and twist
plait
open join (4 pairs)

Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace. The original pattern showed a hole where the two plaits joined, so I have suggested an open join rather than the usual windmill.
In fact, the original pattern was a little ambigous as to whether the thick lines were plaits or tallies. I chose plaits!
