I was asked to make up a pricking pattern for some lace from Sri Lanka from a photo (see below). This is my attempt. It doesn't look quite the same as the original!

Pattern:

Bobbins: 19 pairs
Style: Torchon
Stitches:
half stitch
cloth stitch
cloth stitch and twist
plait (cyan)
2 pair + 1 pair join (cyan and grey)
twist single pair (grey)
Details:
Sri Lanka headside (blue and grey)
half stitch triangle (blue)
cloth stitch heart (red)
8 legged spider (green)
double Torchon ground (grey)
twisted footside (grey)
Description:
Follow the links above for explanation of how to work the different parts of the lace.
Remember to twist pairs as they leave the cloth stitch hearts.
There is a special headside with plaits, which looks more like English Midland lace rather than Torchon. Click here for more information.
I have added a little ground at start and end to avoid starting in the middle of a spider, and so give a neater start.
