Description:
The previous triangle pattern put the triangles right against the edge. It might be considered to be a type of headside. It is more usual to have triangles inside the lace, next to a footside. This pattern shows a simple type of footside called winkie pin.
Previously, the worker pair stayed within the triangle. Now, sometimes the worker pair goes round the pin at the edge of the triangle, but sometimes it leaves the triangle, crosses the passive pair of the footside, round the footside pin, back across the passive pair, and re-enters the triangle. The pattern shows which row does what.
Winkie pin footside can be used wherever a footside is required. It is not as strong as a conventional footside. It is easier to understand! It also uses less bobbins (one pair less per footside). I think it looks good with triangles.
The photo shows the triangle workers as different colours. You can make the footside passives the same as the triangle workers, which will make the edge of the triangle stronger, perhaps (but I wanted to show how the winki pin footside worked).
