Motif or part lace has small motifs, which are made first, and then joined together afterwards, usually with brides. British motif lace was made in Honton, Devon. A similar type of lace is Brussels Duchesse lace. I am assuming that my pieces are Honiton, as they either came from my family (who lived in Britain), or I bought them in England. However, it is hard to tell the simpler pieces of Brussels Duchesse and Honiton apart, so I may be wrong.
